It's not too often that I look at a work and was really happy, but this one I really enjoyed painting. For once I wasn't going for a hyper realistic look, but this is truely my favourite colour scheme! I might do a seasonal series.
This is an original artwork using personal reference pics, (C) to cristle-drake (Kylee Nel)
well, mind you, for not aiming for a hyperrealistic style... you sure managed to nail realism preattymuch... it dose look stunning.
Ok... critick... her hair seems a bit rushed... not enough contrast on it... and the edges are a bit blocky... most notably on the tip of the locks closest to her mouth, on the leftmost part of the picture. Whille on the subject... her eyebrows also seem... very sharp... almost glued one. would have liked to see a more smouther edge with identifyable hairs.
Otherways... her eyes, nose and lips are just stunning...
Her neck might have used a bit more contrast too... and with how low the cloth goes around her bust... I would have expected some of her cleavage to show...
On another note... I must also congratulate you on the branches of the tree in the background... they look very realistic... and it's something I have been strougaling with for a long time...
And the overall colorescheme is very nice too and creating a seasonal series would defenetly be very interesting... I can imagine winter would use a blue and white colorescheme... that would be awesome... and spring would emphasise on greens and other bright colores in between. Don't know what summer would be like though... but I'm looking forward to them... keep up the great work.
Aha! Now that's what I was looking for (critique wise.) I had to laugh when you made the comment on the hair. See the squiggly hair going over her face and slightly over her mouth? See how warped it is? Got the same symptom as you when I just got tired of painting it. I wasn't overly happy with the hair, I have done better, but it served it's need.
And my eyebrows always seem to look like that. Notice there are no tutorials on eyebrows? an important feature on the face! You get so many on how to paint eyes, noses, mouths, ears, but nothing on eyebrows! Just as important for expression and always overlooked!
always a pleasure giving CC... keep up the great work... you defenetly came a VERY long way from your earlyer anime works... I'm impressed beyond words...
No other way to say it "Stunning" I love the color palette you chose it complimented the subject and drew focus to her eyes and mouth. The only constructive criticism I have is the hair on her shoulder. It seems off color and compostition wise not curled enough to look as soft as the rest of the loose pieces. You did a fabulous job!

The hair though, seems unfinished and a bit rushed through.
Besides that, you did a wonderful job. Keep up that way.^^
